Welcome to Chestnut Class!
Mr Brown is Chestnut's teacher and Ms Bird and Ms Jenkins will also be supporting with the children's learning both in class and through extra activities out of class. If you have questions you can arrange a meeting with me through the school office, send us an an email at MaBrown@Parsonstreet.com or get in touch via class dojo.
Drop off is now from 8:50. The children will enter through the KS2 entrance and go to their classroom. At the end of the day, please collect your child from the old girl's entrance on the Bedminster Road at 3.30. If you would like your child to be allowed to walk home on their own at the end of the day then please collect and return a safer travel form from the school office.
Home Learning Expectations
Children should be reading at home as often as possible. The children should record when they have read, independently or with an adult, in their yellow reading records. The children will need to have their reading books plus reading records with them in school everyday.
Please continue to use TT rockstars to support the children with their mathematical learning.
Bug Club is still being used to support reading at home and Spelling Shed will be used to support practice with spellings.
We still send out home learning ideas linked to our enquiries each term. If these are completed please share the outcomes on ClassDojo where we will be able to share them with the whole class.
PE
Year 5 have PE on a Wednesday (indoor) and Thursday (outdoor). On these days children should arrive at school wearing their PE kit.
PE kit consists of black shorts or jogging bottoms, a plain t-shirt in their house colour and plimsoles or trainers.
