Learning from home
If you are unable to be in school, we have some exciting home learning that you can take part in. This way you'll be able to keep on track with the rest of the class. There are lots of activities below for you to do: as a guide, try doing 1 English activity, 1 maths activity and 1 creative activity a day.
We'd love to hear how you are getting on - you can send us photos through Class Dojo or email.
Maths With Parents
To support your child with their Maths learning at home, you can sign up for Maths with Parents. This is a site where you will be able to watch videos, play games and support your child through various structured learning activities, chosen by us (linked to what your child has been doing in school). The First activities are bases around addition and subtraction and will be changed regularly. All you need to sigup is the log in code below.
Maths Learning from Home
In school we follow the Maths Mastery curriculum. Maths Mastery over the course of the next few months will be releasing pack of learning for children. Please find below week 1-4 studen and parent packs.
English Learning at Home
Whilst at home, we will be providing weekly English tasks for children to complete. These can be completed and sent to you class teacher over class Dojo. These tasks will be based on previous learning in school and will be an opportunity for children to consolidate learning.
Handwriting
For anyone wishing to practice handwriting please find below blank handwriting sheets as well as the year 3 and 4 common exception words which you could use to practice your handwriting.
Creative Project ideas
The year 3 team have put together some creative learning ideas for you which we will update weekly. We would love to see what you have been up to by posting your creations on to 'Class Dojo' or on Twitter!
Don't forget that we have access to lots of online learning too. If you can't remember how to log in then get in touch with your teachers.

Reading
Reading is at the heart of everything we do and is a key priority at Parson Street. In year 3, we love reading and dedicate much time during the school day to ensuring your child is read with regularly. You may have noticed in our new home school diaries this year the home work expectation for reading is 5x20 minutes per week. Thank you for you support by reading with your child reading at home and if you would like any further ideas to support your child and their reading please do get in touch.
TT Rockstars
By know your child should have brought home a TT Rockstars login which you will find stuck into their home school diary. Please get in contact with your child's class teacher if you need a replacement or any further information.
Tribal Tales
In term 4 our topic is Tribal Tales! This topic is a history focus and the children will be learning about stone age life. This is an exciting opportunity for children to learn about life before there were written records and so the children will be making deductions about life based on artefacts, cave paintings, buildings and burial sites. During this topic we hope to take the children on a visit to a prehistoric site to learn first hand about this period in history!
Home Learning
Please find copies of home learning below. We would like the children to choose a piece of work to complete from grid each week and to record this in their home learning books. We are excited to see home learning the children make and welcome models, videos, power points or art work that we can display proudly in our rooms and on our year group page!
