Year 2 Inspire workshop on Wednesday at 9 o'clock. Stay after kick start and we will be looking at stories and making a story in a box. Would be great to see as many parents and carers as we can there.

Year 2 Sats Presentation
Bike Building!
Week 3:
This week Sir Chris Hoy has challenged us to design a new bike! We have to describe it, give instructions on how to make it and persuade him to choose our designs. Lots of descriptive and bossy writing going on.
In Maths, we are practising adding and subtracting 9, 10 and 11. We will also be looking at number bonds to 10 and 20. Our challenge this week is to apply them to lots of different 2 digit numbers, e.g. 27 + _ = 30 (I know that 7 + 3 is 10 so 27 + 3 = 30).

Week 2: Art week!
This week we are learning all about Monet and his famous Lily paintings!
In English, we will be doing lots of creative writing thinking about describing in lots of different ways. We will be using Similes, adjectives and expanded noun phrases.
In Maths, we will be look at 2D and 3D shape. We will be making repeating patterns, looking at the 2D shapes you can see on 3D shapes and learning about their properties.
We will also be practising our number bonds to 10, 20 and 100 and our 2,5 and 10 times tables. See if you can practice any at home.
In Art we are going to get very creative and recreate our own Monet painting.
