Across Year 2 we are going to be streaming for Reading. From Monday (26th Feb) half the year group will be working with Miss Pettitt on Whole Class Reading and the other half will continue to individually read on a 1:1 basis.
Whole Class Reading: Your child will be accessing reading either as a whole class, partner work or individually 5 times per week. Your child will still be reading with their class teacher every 2-3 weeks but comments in the planner may become less frequent. Your child will still have an allocated time to change their book, once a week or as and when they are ready too.
1:1 Reading: Your child will be reading up to 3 times a week with an adult this term and will be changing their books at least 2 times a week. In the other sessions we will be practicing our phonics and working hard on our tricky words.
All children will take part in a whole class reading lesson to continue to work on our comprehension skills.
As always, we ask that you continue to read as much as possible at home with your child. School books, home books, library books, kindles, apps, anything and everything!
Any questions just ask Miss McSherry or Miss Pettitt.
Ahoy there me hearties, welcome to the year 2 class page! Keep checking for updates on spelling, home learning and what we are up to in our learning.
Don't forget to dress as Pirates on Monday 11th September for our Pirate Walk around Bristol Harbourside! Shiver me timbers....
Also Pirate parents, please note the 14th September @ 3pm for the Year 2 welcome meeting in 2KM. See you there!
