Year 1 - Apple

Welcome to Apple Class! 

Ms Devrell is the Apple Class teacher and Mrs Russell, Mrs Sprague and Mrs Wellington will also be supporting with the children's learning both in class and through extra activities out of class. If you have questions you can arrange a meeting with me through the school office, send us an an email at fdevrell@Parsonstreet.com or get in touch via class dojo. 

Drop off is from 8:50 at the classroom door. The door will open at 3.30 each day. 

Home Learning Expectations

Children should be reading at home at least five times per week. The children should record when they have read, independently or with an adult, in their yellow reading records. The children will need to have their reading books plus reading records with them in school everyday. 

Please use Numbots to support the children with their number fluency.

Bug Club is still being used to support reading at home.

We will post home learning ideas linked to our enquiries each term. We would love to see your home learning posted to Class Dojo where we will be able to share them with the whole class. 

PE

Year 1 have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On PE day children should arrive at school wearing their PE kit.

PE kit consists of black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms, a plain t-shirt in their house colour and plimsoles or trainers.  

Term 2 Enquiry - How Can We Help?

The focus of our enquiry this term is helping others. We're looking forward to doing some community volunteering in Manor Woods. We will also be artists, as we plan and make an animation about our act of kindness.

Our new enquiry is How Can We Live a Healthy Life? We are learning all about where our food comes from and what we can do to stay healthy. We are working towards a challenge of being Designers when we design a filmed presentation to present a cooking soup show!
