Learning from home
If you are unable to be in school, we have some exciting home learning that you can take part in. This way you'll be able to keep on track with the rest of the class. There are lots of activities below for you to do: as a guide, try doing 1 English activity, 1 maths activity and 1 creative activity a day. We have included a suggested timetable to help you structure your day. There is no expectation to follow this but use it as a guide if it helps.
We'd love to hear how you are getting on - you can send us photos through Class Dojo or email.
Maths With Parents
To support your child with their Maths learning at home, you can sign up for Maths with Parents. This is a site where you will be able to watch videos, play games and support your child through various structured learning activities, chosen by us (linked to what your child has been doing in school). The First activities are based around addition and subtraction and will be changed regularly. All you need to signup is the log in code below.
Don't forget that we have access to lots of online learning too. If you can't remember how to log in then get in touch with your teachers.

We had an amazing time during science week. We designed our own inventions, made volcanoes, made dinosaur teeth and even dinosaur poo! It was so much fun to get stuck into our science learning and we can't wait to do more!
Dinosaur Planet Term 3
Our new topic for Term 3 is Dinosaur Planet. Thank you for supporting our trip to the Bristol Museum to launch our topic and give us such great inspiration for the learning to come.
Thank you for your support in continuing to give children the opportunity to read at home at least five times a week.
Term 3 timetable changes.
Our new PE day is Monday. One mile run will be on Thursdays. Swimming remains on Tuesdays.
What a summer it has been! We hope you all had a lovely break and are as excited to start the new school year as we are. Your child will come home with a new reading book this week but we are still waiting on our new home school diaries to arrive so they might not be here for another week or so. In regards to reading, we expect EVERY child to read 5 times a week. This could be as little as 4 pages or as much as the whole book. Reading is so crucial for children's development, particularly at this age, and is therefore the most important aspect of home learning.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Year 1 Team
Swimming will be on Tuesday afternoons.
PE will be Monday afternoons. Our mile run will be on Thursdays.
As per Reception, all children must have school dinners (this will be the case until Year 3).
Our new topic is Rio de Vida. We are going to be learning all about Brazil and carnivals. We will also be learning about the Amazon Rainforest. Please have a look at our knowledge organizer with your child to find out more about what we are going to learn. We had an amazing WOW day, where we learnt a carnival dance and played a samba beat on the drums.
Our first topic is Bright Lights Big City, we will be learning all about London. Our home learning grid is attached, as is the topic knowledge organiser so you can see what kind of things we will be covering.
