Key information:
For Term 6, we will continue with PE on a Monday afternoon and Swimming on a Tuesday morning.
In regards to reading, in Year 1, we have the expectation that you will read with your child 5 times a week in order to aid their development.
All reading counts! Don't limit your fun to books. Try helping your child read a recipe to help you make dinner, street signs, number plates or posters around town.
Home learning should come in on a Thursday. It is celebrated with the class and then sent home on Fridays.
If you need any more information, please email either Mr Shanahan or Ms Devrell.

Enchanted Woodland - Term 6
Below is our final home learning grid of the year! We also have our knowledge organiser for you to read.
Term 5 Home Learning
This term, we will be learning about two different topics. After 13th May, please do the activities that are associated with "Enchanted Woodland."
Enjoy!
Term 4 Splendid Skies!
Our topic for Term 4 is Splendid Skies. We will be learning all about the weather and the seasons. We launched the new topic with a walk to the Malago Greenway Berry Maze open space. The children loved their nature hunt, looking for signs of the season!
Term 3: Dinosaur Planet
Welcome back!
We had an awesome time starting our new topic, "Dinosaur Planet." We had a special visit from the world-famous paleontologist, Professor John Hammond, and we also went on a fossil dig. Here are some pictures from our afternoon!
We have also added our new topic map and list of spellings!
Thanks,
Mr Shanahan & Ms Devrell
Term 2 Moon Zoom!
In our first week back we found out what our new topic was. It began with a very exciting 'crash landing' outside of the Year 1 classrooms. There were lots of clues that led us to believing that an alien had crash-landed their space-rocket! This inspired us to walk around our school like astronauts and write upside under the tables to imagine we were in space! He have also made our own aliens and our own spaceships that we have hung in our classroom. We have also been inspired by our book of the week, 'Whatever Next!'
We look forward to sharing more of our learning with you over the term!
Thank you,
Year 1
Term 2
We are extremely excited to be starting our new topic, "Moon Zoom" this term. We will be learning about; space, planets, aliens and everything else in between! Have a look at our new home learning for the term and pick which one you want to do first. We can't wait to see your amazing work!!
This term, we will be changing our PE day to Thursdays. Swimming will continue to be on a Tuesday, but it will now be in the morning.
Thank you,
Mr Shanahan and Ms Devrell
Kapow! Zap! Boom!
We have been having a brilliant time learning all about superheroes.
We have read and written about superheroes. We have hunted for hidden superheroes in the playground. We have sculpted superheroes, built superhero metropolises, played superhero tricky word splat, made popstick heroes and this week we are creating a superhero story, casting ourselves as the heroes and heroines and perhaps even the odd villain!
Thank you for the amazing home learning that you have been sharing with us. We love our growing collection of superhero sculptures!
