Term 5
This term our enquiry is...."What is Healthy?". During this enquiry we will be looking at Dental Hygiene and how we keep ourselves especially our teeth healthy. If you know anyone who works as a Dentist or Dental Hygienist that could come into Nursery and talk to the children about dental care, please get in touch with a member of Nursery staff.
Term 5 Week 2
This week in Nursery celebrated Diversity Day, as part of the celebrations we read Faces; My Body, Your Body looking at how we are the same and different and dressed up to represent our cultural heritage. Linked to our enquiry What is Healthy? We were Authors reading Handa's Surprise and enjoyed retelling the story with props and tasting fruits from the story. We have also developed our artistic skills by string painting and marble painting to create animals from the story.
Term 4
Welcome back - we hope you had a restful half term. This week in Nursery will be focusing on welcoming everyone back from half term and celebrating World Book Day by enjoying stories in lots of different ways. We will start our new Enquiry: What Grows? next week.
Term 3
Happy New Year! We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and welcome back to Nursery. Our enquiry for this term is "I wonder what I feel?" and we will be taking part in a variety of activities such as exploring different textures and talking about our emotions and how we feel. We will be using Class Dojo to share and celebrate our play in Nursery. If you have any problems accessing this please come and see us.
We are starting our enquiry by reading the story "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen and are enjoying listening and retelling the story in different ways such as with story props.
We like to go out in all weathers and are especially enjoying this cold spell, please make sure your child comes to Nursery every day in warm clothes: coat, hat, gloves all labelled. You are welcome to send in wellie boots but we do have a supply here that children can borrow.
Term 2 Up Date
Our enquiry this term is, I wonder what print is! So far we have focused on the stories, The Stickman, Dear Zoo and Dear Santa. The children have also been looking at print in the environment, logos and each others names. We have been impressed with how the children are starting to identify the first sound of their own name and the sounds of their friends names.
After the Christmas holidays we will be continuing our enquiry, I wonder what print is! Starting with a focus on the story, We're going on a bear hunt.
Term 2
Welcome back, we hope you had a relaxing and fun half term and we look forward to hearing all about it. We are continuing with our Enquiry ..."I wonder who we are?" over the next couple of weeks. Please share with us a photo of someone special to your child such as a family photo, a pet or maybe something that they like to do. We will then display and talk about this in class. If you do not have a printer, you can email photos to us.
