We can't believe how fast the school year has flown! We have a really exciting topic for our last term, which is...
"How many pebbles are on the beach?"
We are looking for donations of goggles, inflatables such as rubber rings and children's deck chairs to enhance our role play - let us know if you can help with this. Watch this space for more information!
We have an "eggciting" term planned kicking off with our topic "I wonder what hatches?". We will be visiting the duck eggs that we have in school and waiting for the arrival of caterpillars.
We are enjoying reading the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle and have enjoyed creating our own caterpillar prints with cotton reels and googly eyes. We will be exploring butterfly prints with paints as well as tasting some of the fruits that the caterpillar eats.
Following the children's strong interest in dressing up, we have changed our role play area into a clothes and shoe shop. We would welcome donations of shoe boxes to enhance our play.
The Nursery Team
Welcome back. We have spent the first week looking at the Chinese New Year. We have tried some Prawn Crackers and Soy Sauce and danced to Chinese Music.
Next week, week 2 of this term we are starting our new topic of, Why can't I eat chocolate for breakfast? As part of our engage session we are going to having a Big Breakfast with the children, keep an ear out for the different foods they might have tried. We are also going to be looking at healthy and unhealthy foods throughout the topic.
Please send us in photos of your child eating their breakfast as we are creating a display in nursery.
We thank you for you continued support.
The Nursery Team.
This term our nursery topic is, Did Dragons Exist? We will start the term off engaging the children in looking at lots of different features of castles and creating different props to add to our nursery environment. We will also be reading two storing, Zog and the Kissed that Missed. Towards the end of the term we will have a special Castle day where we will ask the children to come dressed as a knight, princess, queen, king, dragon or jester so get your thinking caps on!
This term our topic is - How many colours in the rainbow? During this topic we will be recognising colours and patterns, mixing colours, sorting and ordering colours, exploring different materials and looking at the weather. To support your child's learning at home you can choose to complete one of the home learning activities each week.
We also have our kick start reading sessions starting on the 1st of November where you and your child can choose a book to take home for the week to read at home.
One of the books we will be reading this term in nursery is - The rainbow fish, by Marcus Pfister. Follow this link to see it being told on youtube.
We are looking forward to nursery being transformed by colour!
This term our topic is, Why do you love me so much? Please come and look at our family photo wall that is displayed in our role play area.
My email address is email@example.com if you need to contact me at nursery.
