SCHOOL UNIFORM

 

As we get closer to the start of the new academic year, it might be a good time to be reminded of our school uniform policy. The key items of uniform are outlined below.

 

Our uniform:

 

Our school uniform is compulsory for all pupils attending Parson Street Primary School. Parents can purchase uniform (with logo) from our local suppliers:

If parents/carers wish to buy plain sweatshirts from other (available from most high street retailers/supermarkets), we will have a supply of sew-on logos available in the office for sale at a cost of 60p or 2 for £1 if you would like to purchase these.  These sweatshirts

must be totally plain and match the colour of the school sweatshirt

STANDARD

UNIFORM

  • Plain, grey or black trousers, skirt or pinafore
  • Plain, grey or black trouser shorts – SUMMER OPTION
  • Trousers and shorts must be a tailored fit, e.g. no jogging bottoms, leggings or sports shorts
  • Skirts should be no higher than 2” above the knee
  • Skirts must be no longer than ankle length
  • Red polo shirt (with or without logo)
  • Items specified must have a collar, e.g. NO T-SHIRTS!
  • Red cardigan or jumper (with or without logo)
  • Hoodies are NOT permitted

 

OPTIONAL ITEMS

  • Red and white checked summer dresses
  • Dress length should be no higher than 2” above the knee and no longer than ankle length
  • Plain red, grey, black or white socks/tights
  • Any socks/tights on show must be colours opposite.
  • Socks/tights MUST be worn at school
  • Plain red fleece/jacket
  • For outdoor wear only

 

FOOTWEAR

 

  • Black shoes/trainers/boots

 

  • Shoes/trainers MUST be black, e.g. no visible patterns/logos etc
  • Shoes/Trainers must be flat, e.g. NO HEELS
  • Shoes/Trainers must have backs on them and be closed.

 

 

 

 

Physical Education (PE) Kit:

 

PE clothing or ‘kit’ must be worn during every PE lesson for reasons of personal hygiene. The kit, which must be available in school every day, includes:

  • Black shorts or jogging bottoms (for winter outdoor PE)
  • Items should be plain in colour and contain no logos
  • Plain, house colour t-shirt or polo shirt
  • T-shirts must be plain in colour, e.g. no logos, football shirts
  • Trainers (for outdoor PE)
  • Children will complete indoor PE in bare feet
  • A draw string kit bag
  • This should contain the PE kit and remain on the child’s peg. It should be taken home to be washed every week.

 

All jewellery must be removed wherever possible during PE lessons. When this is not possible (e.g. new piercings) it must be made ‘safe’ by being covered with plasters. Long hair must also be tied up during PE lessons.

 

As part of the National Curriculum, children in all year groups participate in swimming lessons. These lessons are compulsory for all and the children therefore need additional PE kit to participate:

  • Swimming costume/trunks
  • Swimming costumes should not be ‘loose’ fitting and should be a ‘one piece’ costume, e.g. no bikinis
  • Towel

 

  • Waterproof bag
  • This should be sent in with the child’s swimming kit weekly

 

We shall inform you of your child’s swimming day.
