LEAVE OF ABSENCE PROCEDURES
If you wish to take your child out of school then it is important you let us know as much in advance as possible. Whilst we would ask you to try to arrange these out of school hours, if it is for a medical appointment, you may be asked to provide proof of appointment. These are only authorised for the child attending and not for any siblings. If you are requesting a holiday/extended leave of absence, we ask for two weeks’ notice wherever possible. If you fill the form in on the day you are going or the day before you are going, you run the risk of this not being authorised and a penalty notice being issued (£60 per parent per child). If your child is absent without authorisation then you also risk losing their place at the school.
