Attendance

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Attendance and punctuality is very important to us at Parson Street as we recognise the impact that it has on your child’s education. We publish the attendance figures for the best class in our weekly newsletter and we are sure that, with your help, we will achieve our school target. Our Attendance Diamond, shown above, is displayed around our school and in children's Home School Diaries. We discuss attendance every week with our children to celebrate the successes and encourage those who need to improve their attendance.

As part of Trust in Learning (Academies) we work closely with Sol Attendance to improve attendance at our school and reduce persistent absence. If you would like more information about this approach then please get in touch with Mrs Harris (Attendance Leader) by contacting the school or emailing kharris@parsonstreet.com

THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP YOUR CHILD ACHIEVE!

  • Ensure your child attends school EVERY DAY unless your child is ill. If they are ill please ensure that you inform the school ASAP by calling the ‘Attendance Line’ on  0117 9030227. Only keep them home if they are really unable to attend.
  • Phone school EVERY morning that your child is absent so that our attendance records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Make sure your child arrives on time by 9.00am! Remember, doors close promptly so do not be late to arrive! Late comers not only miss vital lesson time but also disrupt learning for other members of the class too. Our doors open from 8.50am so there really is no excuse to be late.

  • If your child is late into school it is vitally important that they are signed in at the school office. DO NOT TRY TO ACCESS THE SCHOOL VIA ANY OTHER ENTRANCE!

  • Make sure that we have all the correct contact details for you so that we can contact you about illnesses or absence.

  • Take your family holidays during school holidays.

IF YOUR CHILD IS ABSENT YOU MUST PHONE OUR

ATTENDANCE LINE - 0117 9030226 and select option 1 to leave  message.
