Year 4

Tasting our chocolate bar prototypes!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 4 are going on their trip to Caerleon on Thursday. The weather is likely to be a bit wet and chilly.

  • As we are outside in the afternoon, we are asking children to bring some suitable outdoor shoes in a carrier bag (wellies or old trainers).

  • Children need to wear their school uniforms but can bring a warm jumper and waterproof coat to put on too.

  • Please bring a suitable bag to carry all of your child’s belongings as we will have to carry it with us during the trip.

  • If your child wishes to bring any money, we advise that £3 should be the maximum.

Thank you for support

Diwali Puppet show

First we interviewed an Archaeologist to find out everything we could about what they do and why they do it!

We carefully excavated various letters. We then had to rearrange the letters so that they formed a Roman word.

We used the Ipads to find out the meaning of these Roman words.

We have also covered up different materials. At the end of Term 2 we will be carrying out another archaeological dig to find out what has happened to the objects. We wonder if they will look the same as when we buried them.

Thank you for a great start to the year so far Year 4! We have had lots of fun learning this term! Enjoy the holidays and lets get ready for the next term...

Things to look out for in Term 2....

Celebration assembly on the 14th November!! (Featuring our shadow performance)

Diwalli puppet show

We will be finding out why we speak English in school?

Maybe even a mystery trip????

We have been investigating the impact of a light source onto an opaque object!

We made some small shadows by going as far from the light source as possible.

We created shadows as big as possible by going as close to the light source as we could.
