Easter Egg Madness - 21 March 2008

A HUGE thank you to the PTA for organising our really successful Easter Egg raffle.  We have never seen so many eggs!  Thank you to everyone who contributed and to all those who bought a ticket.  Happy Easter!

 

Pirates Ahoy! - 17 March 2008

We have had the most amazing Discovery Week on the theme of Pirates.  All our curriculum work was linked to the theme and we had great fun problem solving, designing and making, using our artistic skills, making music and writing on this great theme.  We were also visited by a real pirate - Pirate Pete!  He said he had never seen anything quite like it.  Have a look at the things we have been doing here and sing along with the movies!

 

More Dancing - 07 March 2008

Mrs Gill took a group of Year 5 children to Bedminster Down School for a dance workshop this week.  The children had a great time and made great friends with many pupils from other places.  Well done everyone!  Check out the pictures.

 

World Book Day - 07 March 2008

We had a fantastic celebration of World Book Day with many people dressing up as book characters.  There were lots of book activities and also awards given to people for their Read A Million Words totals so far.  We already have our first millionaires!  Enjoy some pictures here...

Fruit Friday - 04 March 2008

We had an incredible day last Friday. Children and staff came to school dressed as fruit and we ate loads of it!  It was a fantastic way to promote healthy eating and the benefits of fruit.  Enjoy some of our pictures here...

 

Stages - 04 March 2008

Year 2 took part in last month's Stages Dance Festival.  Their enactment of the Fire of London was amazing!  Well done to everyone!

Key Stage 2 Carols - 19 December 2007

Key Stage 2 finished off our Christmas celebration in style with a fantastic carol service this afternoon.  Thank you to everyone who came and supported us.  A big well done to all the children and staff for their readings and singing.  Happy Christmas everyone!

 

Bristol City Study Centre - 19 December 2007

Key Stage 1 Christmas - 18 December 2007

Key Stage 1 children took part in a lovely and lively presentation of the Christmas story at Victoria Park Baptist Church.  Well done to everyone involved!  Have a great Christmas.

 

Badger Invasion! - 17 December 2007

We were visited today by the new Bristol City Council 'Be There Badger'!  She did a great job encouraging all the children to be on time for school.  We were visited by GWR, Radio Bristol and the Evening Post.  Check out the news article here:

 

Drama Week - 14 December 2007

Drama Week was a great success with a fantastic performance of Wilbur's Web to finish it all off.  Well done to everyone in Key Stage 2 and thank you to everyone who came to clap and cheer!

 

Foundation Stage Nativity - 07 December 2007

Well done to all the Foundation Stage children for their nativity. You were gorgeous!  Mr Lacey couldn't get close to take many photos because of all the parents!!  If anyone would like to send me a photo or two, please feel free...!

 

RAMW Competition - 23 November 2007

Diwali Day - 14 November 2007

To celebrate the launch of our India project Miss Griggs organised a day of activities related to the Hindu festival of Diwali. See some of the incredible work that this children did here.

 

Garden Opens - 19 October 2007

On Wednesday we officially opened our Friendship Garden.  The Garden was put together by staff, pupils and friends of the school who remember our friends George Arnold and Val Whittle who passed away last year.  Their families were present for the opening and were grateful for everyone's support in putting the garden together.  See the pictures of the occasion here.

 

India Project - 26 September 2007

We have been successful in our application to form a link with schools in India.  Along with three other schools we will be working over the next few years to develop links with a group of Indian schools.  Take a look at the pictures from the planning weekend here to get a taste of what we have to look forward to.

 

Author d'Lacey visits - 22 September 2007

We were visited by famous author Chris d'Lacey last week.  He entertained the children with his stories and we were visited by the local press.  See the article here.
