Here are Parson Street we believe that every child matters. We are lucky to have a fantastic team working to support our children and their families outside of the classroom. The team works in close partnership with parents/carers, teachers and specialist agencies to identify issues or concerns early and to remove all possible barriers to learning, so that all pupils can reach their full potential.
Hi, I’m Ms Buckle and I lead the Every Child Matters team. It’s my job to make sure every child in Parson Street Primary School is valued, listened to and supported effectively in order to overcome any barriers in their learning so they can succeed. I am responsible for ensuring that children in the school who come from vulnerable situations and disadvantaged backgrounds make good progress and achieve. I also lead safeguarding in the school which means I am responsible for making sure all children at Parson Street Primary feel happy and safe at home and at school and are protected from harm. When I'm not at school, I love to relax by dancing, drumming and catching up with friends over a coffee and a delicious slice of cake.
Hi, I’m Mrs Gill and I’m the SENDCO at Parson Street Primary School. I monitor learning to make sure that all children with SEND reach their potential. I can make referrals to other professional agencies and meet regularly with parents and children to check they are happy with the support we are offering them and to review progress. When I am not at work I love to read and I enjoy tap and jazz dancing. I am trying hard to get better at baking cakes.
Hi, I’m Mrs McMurray and I’m the Hub Master at Parson Street Primary School. I am a Reading Recovery and Numbers Count teacher. This means that I work with the children 1-1 or in small groups. It is my job to monitor the progress of children across the school and supporting staff to provide quality teaching for all our children. When I am not at working I love camping, dinner with friends or just curling up on the sofa with a good book.
Hi, I’m Ms Read and I’m the Assistant SENDCO at Parson Street Primary School. I work with other staff in the school to share great ideas for how to support children with SEND in the best possible way, as well as covering teachers PPA time. In my spare time I love to shop and spend quality time with my friends and family.
Hi, I’m Miss Allen and I’m the Learning Mentor at Parson Street Primary School. I support children who may need additional emotional and social support in school by meeting with them regularly and also chatting to their parents. I give children time to talk when they are worried about things going on at home or at school. I also work with children in class, giving them support so they can make the most of their learning. In the afternoons, I work with individuals and with small groups of pupils to help develop their self-esteem, manage their emotions and make stronger friendships with other children. I’m creative and when I’m not at work I love to make beautiful things out of things other people think are old and past their best.
Hi, I’m Ms MacLennan and I’m the Attendance Officer at Parson Street Primary School. I’m responsible for monitoring the attendance of all the children in the school. I offer support to families who may find it tricky getting their children to school on time and help them to avoid their child missing out on precious hours of education. In my spare time, I enjoy African Sambista dancing, watching documentaries and practicing yoga.
